It is Awards Season! Nominate Your Favorite Portable Sanitation Professional by February 1 2004 winner Mike Salazar from the Andy Gump Company in Santa Clarita, California says: "First of all I had no idea there was even an award for Service Technician of the Year. I received a call from Barry Gump explaining the details and a few days later we were off to Texas. I didn't even recall being chosen for first place until that evening. What a surprise! I am truly grateful for being chosen, considering all the other candidates. " MZ "Andy" Gump Award The MZ "Andy" Gump Award recognizes an individual for a lifet ime achievement that has raised the bar in our industry. The qualifications outlined on the award exemplify how I have tried to conduct myself both professionally and personally. To have someone recognize me for that was truly one of the greatest honors I have ever received. I have always loved the portable sanitation industry. As I tell people, I clean bathrooms for a living and I still do to this day. Even though I am not out there every day with my fellow workers, it remains the essence of the service we provide. When I reflect on the previous recipients of this grand award as well as those who came after me, I can only pinch myself to be mentioned in the same sentenc e with those folks. This industry was founded and flourishes today on those guiding principles outlined in the "Award." The Gump family continues to bring their expertise and professionalism to our industry every day. Andy Gump did a great job and I thank him for that. " Flay and Glenda Anthony Volunteer of the Year Award Calling on volunteers! You know the people that are unselfish with their time and want to help the PSAI. Whether they pitch in on a committee, at the trade show, or behind the scenes in some other way, there's always someone who is a go to person asking how they can help.
