Joke of the Week The HR director at a portable sanitation company decided to give all of the service technicians a short written test to see which ones were the most promising candidates for CDL training. Going in, one guy seemed like a worthy pick. After the tests were scored, though, he was ultimately passed over for promotion. It might have had something t o do with how he completed this sentence: "When the ______ is dead, the truck won't start." He wrote: "Driver." © Portable Sanitation Ass ociation International (PSAI) • 2626 E 82 n d Street, Suite 175 • Bloomi ngton, MN 55425 www.psai.org • 952 - 854 - 8300 W EEKLY EDITION JAN 11, 2017 Trucking Goes Tech A new online trucking industry resource launches, connecting drivers all across the country. Bendix, an American manufacturing company with a large stake in the trucking industry, has launched a "center of commercial vehicle information at its website, safertrucks.com." The center is titled the "Knowledge Dock," which aims to "help trucking profes sionals stay connected to the industry," through updates on truck maintenance, operation, and safety. Any "trucking trends" or new technology developments will also find their way onto the platform. Featuring blog posts, videos, podcasts and white papers f rom Bendix's team of industry professionals, the online resource has something for every trucking industry professional. Whether you are a owner - operator, part of a fleet's leadership, a driver, a technician, a regulator, an engineer, or a business lead, the Knowledge Dock plans to offer varying perspectives that speak to each and every person who comes into professional contact with trucks. Bendix has made industry education their priority, along with accessibility. They want industry professionals to ha ve access to pertinent information whenever and wherever they may need it, which was the underlying point behind the new tech resource. While Bendix offers online and in - person training programs, they believe the Knowledge Dock equally ties into their pas sion for promoting safety within the industry. As the Bendix Director of Corporate Communications, Barbara Gould, states, "Whether it's a fleet executive seeking insight about current or pending technologies… or a driver doing a pre - tip inspection, safetru cks.com is a great resource."
