W EEKLY EDITION OCT 12, 2016 Joke of the Week A pick up and delivery driver was treated for a minor work - related injury. After a couple of weeks, he went back to the doctor for a final check up. The driver told hi s doctor that he wasn't able to do all the things his job required. When the examination was complete, he said, "Now, Doc, I can take it. Tell me in plain English why I can't do my job." "Well, in plain English," the doctor replied, "you're just lazy." "Okay," said the man. "Now give me the medical term so I can tell my boss." © Portable Sanitation Association International (PSAI) • 2626 E 82 n d Street, Suite 175 • Bloomington, MN 5542 5 www.psai.org • 952 - 854 - 8300 Flushing Out Cancer The Canadian Cancer Society's fundraising effort during Breast Ca ncer Awareness Month takes on a portable component. The Windsor/Essex office of the Canadian Cancer Society has kicked off their October 2016 fundraising campaign, "Flush Out Cancer," after seeing great success with the idea in 2015 – an idea that combin es local Canadian businesses and one pink portable restroom. The Canadian Cancer Society takes their inoperable pink unit, drops it on the front lawn of a business, and the employees of that company have until the end of the day to raise at least $100. I f the $100 limit is reached, the society will collect the unit and deliver it to the front lawn of any other business of that company's choosing. The cycle continues throughout the month of October, allowing the pink porta - potty to undergo plenty of travel ! With $13,000 successfully raised in 2015, the Canadian Cancer Society's 2016 goal is $15,000. Thanks to a company called CenterLine, who agreed to be their first stop of the year and who is expected to give more than $1,742, they already anticipate a su ccessful campaign. "We know it's a very serious issue," stated Kelly O'Rourke, the Windsor/Essex office Community Fundraising Specialist, "but we're just trying to have a little fun with it." The Flush Out Cancer initiativ e is proving that a fun, "flushabl e" idea for a little pink restroom can go a long way. READ THE STORY
