Page 2 PSAI Industry Retrospective The PSAI Mission Statement: "It is the mission of the PSAI to expand and improve portable sanitation services and facilities world wide, and to be recognized as the authority within our industry." Why Our History Is Important is document is not only a history of the PSAI, but also tells the story of the many companies that make up its members. Some of our stories begin with "When my Dad" or "When we started our business," some of our stories have an ending, while others continue. My story always starts with "When I was in Vietnam in 1969 I received a photo of the first wooden portable toilet built by my Dad and brother..." Ah, memories. We show respect when we listen to other people's stories and we can usually learn a great deal by trying to understand them. Reading the history of the PSAI gives us an insight to how we began, and how we grew both as an association and an industry. Jeff Wigley thoughtfully composed the many stories sent to him by PSAI members; we owe him our thanks for the excellent work, along with the people who sent in their stories. Please enjoy the reading. Ned Carpenter Past President, PSAI
