Running a small business is hard work that leaves little time for on - the - job training or development.
Finding time to develop business skills is not always on the top of the list for small businesses. One rule of thumb
set by the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) ( www.sba.gov ) is to set aside time for one relevant webinar or
online learning course each month. Topics can include areas such as marketing, staying on top of tax laws,
financial management, government contracting – or simply s etting aside time to network with others in your
industry. If you (or your employees) are not yet PSAI Certified, consider our prep course and exam as a great
option (see box on page 3 about PSAI's Nuts and Bolts Educational Conference).
SBA provides fre e, fast, relevant and trusted information
The SBA Learning Center was launched in 2012 to provide small business owners
with access to training opportunities. Since then, the site has grown to feature
nearly 150 self - paced online courses, videos and web ch ats hosted by industry and
government experts. Content is filtered by topic to provide fast insight and the
answers you need.
