Board Nominations To Prompt W orldwide Voting By Jeff Wigley, PSAI Past President; Nominating Committee Chair CONTINUED FR OM COVER… Nomination Process One merely needs to complete the Board Nomination Form found on the PSAI website and need not be nominated by anyone else. This year's deadlin e for nominations was October 14, 2014 . The total number of available open ings for t he 2015 - 16 Board was three Operator positions and one Suppli er position. A strong field of nine Operators (six USA and three International) and five Suppliers came forward and offered to serve. The Nominating Committee form ed two - person teams and inter viewed two to three candidates each using a standardized Interview Talking Point and Scoring Form. On October 31, the Nominating Committee convened and shared the results of the interviews. They then formulated candidate and process recommendations for act ion by the full Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee put forward the following motions for Board discussion and action: MOTION – At the conclusion of the annual nominating pr ocess, there will no more than three qualified candidates on the ballot for each open Board position. This 3:1 ratio is in accordance with association best practices to ensure voters are choosing from among the best candidates and a runoff is not required to obtain majority votes. MOTION – Members of the Nominating Committee may not be considered for nomination to the Board. This practice is intended to preserve the integrity of the process against perceived self - dealing, cronyism or anti - trust violations. MOTION – Companies eligible to participate in the election are those w hich are Members in Good Standing as of January 1st of each year. MOTION – In order to facilitate an open and fair Election Process, campaign activities by candidates or their proxies/agents are expressly prohibited. Evidence of campaigning by any candida te will result in immediate removal from the Election Process. MOTION – The PSAI Executive Director will create and serve as technology administrator for the annual electronic ballot using the secure QuestionPro online software system. The Nominating Comm ittee will have access to this system to monitor the anonymous results as votes are cast.
