Our evenings are drawing out, the sun has been shining and the flowers are starting to bloom. Although I'm enjoying the warm weather, autumn has arrived for portable restroom operators in the northern hemisphere. And to the dismay of some, winter isn't far behind. Winter presents several challenges for restroom operators and often brings very cold temperatures that make pumping portable toilets demanding indeed. However, good preparation and proper techniques will protect portable restrooms, hand wash stations and portable restroom trailers from freezing. They can also reduce the likelihood of damage to equipment such as water tanks, vacuum pumps, and suction hoses.
