14 I PSAI Association Insight, October 13, 2021
The beautiful city of Christchurch that we had visited 3 years
prior was heavily damaged by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake
along with an 11-foot tsunami that resulted in 185 deaths.
Always ready to meet any challenge, Rent-A-Loo was there
to provide help and support to their townspeople. This series
of earthquakes continued throughout 2011 and again on
February 14, 2016, a 5.7 magnitude hit Christchurch. (FACT:
New Zealand sits between two tectonic plates and is a part of
the Pacific Basin "Ring of Fire" which causes earthquakes and
volcanoes.)
Di and Jay took over the company as Brian and Rose were to
enjoy retirement. At any PSAI event they attend, these friends
always win the "who came the furthest to this event?" contest!
The PSAI and the industry lost a true friend and supporter
in Brian Dakin on July 18, 2020. Rent-A-Loo will continue
to provide quality service and well-trained and motivated
employees as this new era in the company begins.

FINAL THOUGHTS
With 13 international companies, 5 international associations,
and 9 countries throughout the world being represented in this
chapter, I am proud to say that "yes, the PSAI is definitely an
international association." My hope is that this valuable group
of members will continue to grow and to expand in the years
ahead.
