About seven weeks have passed since our Executive Director Karleen Kos announced to the Board that she would be resigning. While unexpected, the PSAI had a succession plan in place that has been implemented. As Karleen wraps up her final week with us, the Search Committee (SC) and Board would like to update you on how far we have come during the time we have had to plan. ADA Compliance and the Portable Sanitation Industry: Issues for Operators Karleen Kos, PSAI Executive Director and Jeff Wigley, PSAI Past President The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed 31 years ago this summer. The intent of it is to ensure that people with disabilities have access to buildings, offices, restaurants, retail stores, entertainment facilities, and other similar locations—giving them the opportunity to participate in the life of our communities in substantially the same ways that able bodied people do, unhindered by infrastructure that excludes them or treats them as "less than."
