Secondly, considering that the waste must be in some part of the portable toilet for most of the time, there is no true way to really get rid of the odor the waste causes. In addition to masking the smell I would create a pleasing environment when you approach and are inside the portable toilet—an automated freshening system that triggered when the door opened, which would change user's perception that this is not going to be a terrible experience. Another idea would be to create a fragrance embedded into the roof of the toilet that let off a pleasing odor when exposed to sunlight. Lastly, add a wrap on the inside of a nature or funny scene to distract the user from looking in the "hole" and feeling the utilitarianism of the portable toilet. In conclusion, portable sanitation is not as gross as it used to be. Advancements in portable sanitation equipment, like luxury restroom trailers, signifies a big step toward resolving this negative public perception. However, people need to feel like a portable toilet is on par with their in- home bathroom experience to create a different mindset of portable sanitation as a respected alternative in the minds of the public. v Welcome New and Returning Members!
