Being on the board of an association can enhance your professional brand and status within your industry. Once you are ready to up your engagement game, serving on the PSAI board may be the best outlet for you. Contributing to shaping the organization's mission and vision is a huge source of pride and satisfaction. It's an opportunity to learn more about enhancing the industry, the people it affects, and the businesses and people in portable sanitation who rely so much on the PSAI. "Serving on the board of any organization is an honor. It involves a lot of work, but the rewards are immeasurable. You can seek advice from long-term professional contacts. Not every bump in the road you encounter can wait to be solved until there is a PSAI conference or simply found in reference materials. Sometimes you just need to know about a piece of equipment or a business practice that is useful more immediately. It is always easier to speak with someone who you know instead of cold calling. A close colleague will be more open to freely talk and even follow-up. "The PSAI offers so many resources, but one of the most valuable is the access to other members. I love having others I can call for ideas and feedback, and I never mind taking a call in the other direction. I've become more of a professional in the industry because of my association and the caliber of network connections available through the PSAI.
