You Need SEO…continued from page 21 Continued on page 23 Is Your Website User Friendly? When you set your website up to best utilize SEO, it will create a faster, smoother, and more user-friendly experience for potential customers. A well-structured, clean, and uncluttered website compels casual visitors to stay longer, thereby decreasing bounce rates and increasing page view durations. Similarly, highly relevant content (such as sales pages and blog articles) keeps your visitors satisfied, as they are more likely to get questions answered and solve pressing issues. When done right, a website set up for SEO makes your potential customers happy, which makes search engines happy too—they love to serve high quality information to their users. You should refer to my articles in the past two newsletters about having the best content on your website to make sure your website is as friendly as it can be. Do You Want to Attract More Customers? Let's face it, one of the main reasons for having a website is to stand out from your competition and increase your customer base. Otherwise, why invest the dollars in creating it and hosting it? Businesses that have an SEO- optimized website bring more customers and grow as twice as fast than businesses who do not have one. SEO is probably the most efficient and affordable marketing strategy that exists today. Moreover, it will only bring in customers who are actively seeking to find your products or service! If you're willing to spend few hours of time and energy—or maybe a small amount of money on an SEO helper—SEO will help bring "targeted" traffic to your website, and eventually more customers to your business than any other marketing tactics you'll ever use. SEO Helps If You Have a Limited Marketing Budget If your marketing budget is limited right now, maybe due to growth or adding new equipment, an SEO strategy can be a way to get the same results without spending additional dollars on advertising. Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is an effective way for a company to attract new customers, but this strategy is largely reserved for players who can afford to dedicate some marketing dollars to it. Small companies usually cannot. What you can do is employ an SEO strategy that will get you to where your larger competitors are in terms of search results. This works well if you want to begin servicing events in your area that may have previously gone to a larger company. Targeted SEO can let more people know this is something you offer without costing you advertising dollars. Once you attract the right traffic and start converting customers, you won't be spending much money on SEO. Your ranking will be enough to get you new customers without investing in paid marketing campaigns. Of course, you will have to maintain the SEO, but the cost of that is significantly lower than what you would pay for ads.
