It may be time to look past your hesitancy and take a look at your website as a customer generating tool. I have been working with small business owners just like you for more than 15 years. In that time, there is one thing I have come to know: people like you are hard workers and are very busy. However, I see you almost single-mindedly focused on the day-to-day details of making your business run and being there for your customers. That sometimes means that other important aspects of the business can fall to the bottom of the ever longer to-do list. There are items you won't be able to have on a Facebook page if that is all you are relying on to inform potential customers of your business. If you have a website and it does not contain all of the items below, you may be missing customers and sales. Never underestimate the sales power of your website! It is the start to building trust with your customers. Whether someone is looking for certain products or services or they just want to determine if you will be able to satisfy their current needs, your website is a very important tool to help them evaluate your business. If your website looks clunky or out of date, it reflects poorly on your entire operation. Here is what your website needs: • A strong homepage. Websites are all about the first impression. Most people will see your homepage first, so it should tell everyone who you are and what your company does. The content on your homepage should be intriguing enough to capture the attention of your visitors within seconds. The page must be well-designed, load fast, and look professional on all types and sizes of devices. There are studies that suggest you have 0.05 seconds to convince people to stay on your website.
