According to Monica, "The distribution center tried to make the driver as comfortable as possible, but she had to be isolated from the other drivers and the community in general." She continues "This poor lady was stranded with COVID in a remote town and sheltering in her truck with no one to help." Sarabia's provided a nice unit that was greatly appreciated. Monica has one further example of Sarabia's working with the City of El Paso in the city's desire to enhance traffic and interest in the downtown area. The goal was to entice patrons to sit al fresco— and socially distanced—to have their meals and enjoy a change of scenery during these troublesome times. Monica proudly states, "We provided hand wash stations on 16 different corners of the downtown main roads for citizens' use." She concludes "this is a first for us and it's okay as long as nobody starts washing dishes in our sinks!" Sarabia's is making a big difference in the El Paso Community! National Make A Difference Day in Action—Portable Services in Augusta, Georgia Jan Bentley is another role model for those striving to make a difference in their community. Portable Services is part of a framework of community service in the Augusta community. Leading by example, Jan is a member of the Aiken Home Builders Association, Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, Augusta Sports Council, Solid Waste Association of North America, and is President of the Georgia Onsite Wastewater Association. Her involvement in these organizations brings to light many needs in her community. Among the many contributions that she and Portable Services have contributed in the Augusta Area: 1. "Women to Watch"is a program that identifies and highlights the work of outstanding women in the area. Jan worked with the station manager of WJBF in Augusta to establish and to promote this program. "The recipients of this honor are also an inspiration to others," says Jan. "One of the most inspiring recipients was a young woman who collected used wedding dresses and turned them into 'angel gowns' to support families that have lost a young baby." 2. After hearing of a program to provide meals for doctors, nurses, and other medical specialists at the local Augusta hospitals, Jan and her team "provided meals on a similar basis to the unsung medical heroes—the maintenance and cleaning staffs of these facilities." 3. Portable Services also contributed meals to the DOT Law Enforcement Team in Augusta. Jan jokes that "they began to look upon our trucks in a more favorable manner." 4. Jan was also instrumental in the "Small Business Spotlight" with a local radio station. This program is targeted at helping small local business that have been hurt by the COVID Pandemic. "Companies submit their information and each month we award $500 to help the company with needed supplies." Jan Bentley
