The Portable Sanitation Industry has undergone fundamental changes during this historic worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Government agencies (FEMA and the CDC) have recognized portable sanitation as an "essential industry." Even with the absence of Special Events in 2020, the demand for multiple weekly services and hand wash stations has kept most companies at near normal revenue levels. We, as an industry, are extremely fortunate. Countless other industries have been economically devastated by COVID-19. So it only makes sense that we should give back to our communities wherever possible. "National Make a Difference Day" was created in 1992 to encourage organizations to help improve their communities. Since then, the last Saturday in October has been designated as a day to help others and to reflect on past successes and plan future projects. I hope this article inspires and motivates you to get involved in projects that help others in your local areas.
