Best Toileting Options on the
Open Road
A recent Washington Post story explores the pros and cons
of various toileting options when one is traveling cross
country by car. Given the choice between a "solo" or "multi-
toilet" bathroom, the author favors single seaters. "A solo-
occupancy bathroom," he writes, "can offer some protection
from people and aerosols, especially if the bathroom is an
outdoor facility with a non-flush pit toilet like an outhouse
or even a porta-potty." We concur, and reached out to the
author to share tips on portable toilets and COVID-19.

Shoppers Avoid Public
Restrooms
A September survey asked adults what they expect from
public restrooms. Findings from the survey indicate that
consumers are leery of public restrooms with regard to their
cleanliness and safety. One-third of survey respondents
reported that they've left a public restroom without using it
due to a lack of cleanliness. One in 10 have used a portable
restroom to avoid venturing into a public toilet.

New York Company Runs Afoul
of the Law
Outside New York City, a local portable sanitation company
is angering residents and officials. The company was ordered
to leave one location, but then was found to be doing
renovation work on the property without proper permits.
Meanwhile the company moved its equipment to an old
firehouse without an approved site plan to operate on
commercial property. Neighbors and officials there are not
happy either. It's so important to be a good neighbor!
