ASSOCIATIONINSIGHT Portable Sanitation Association International News BIWEEKLY EDITION AUGUST 19, 2020 Page 19 What's It Like to Attend a Virtual Conference?…Continued from page 18 satelliteindustries.com | information@satelliteindustries.com | 1.800.883.1123 KEEPING COMMUNITIES SAFE AND CLEAN As schools re-open, and many friends and neighbors go back to work, it's essential to help our communities stay safe and clean! The new Tag 4 free standing handwash station is the perfect solution to help keep children, teachers, and school staff protected against bacteria and viruses. This portable sink is easy to use, with large basins for hand and forearm washing plus a 22 gallon fresh water capacity, helping users of all ages stay sanitized, while requiring fewer services between uses. Durable and easy to transport, the Tag 4 is made to withstand heavy usage and can be easily relocated for greater access. Tag 4 Were you able to find conference documents and materials that related to speakers and presentations? Todd: There is a whole section within the platform called "Resources." Everything you could want or need from any person or businesses was easily laid out in this section. You could get speaker bios, power point presentations, handouts, partner directories, and exhibitor resource information. Emily: It was easy to get information I needed while listening to a presenter. After choosing which presenter I wanted to watch on the menu (I admit I sometimes listened to or watched more than one at a time) a little box popped up with a video of the live presenter and tabs for switching the side panel between live chat and the related materials for downloading. If I couldn't find something, often there was already a question about it in the chat and they would get the information immediately from others, or the presenters themselves would respond to what's happening in the chat. What was unique about attending a conference and trade show virtually? Todd: You may not think it is simple to get small group meetings or one-on-one time with other attendees. It is easy to find attendee profiles to chat with them or you can set-up a room for an after party where everyone can virtually get together for a meet-up. I also liked the chat feature during presentations that we are all used to through Zoom meetings right now. In a live setting, everyone needs to be quiet. However, if the speaker mentions a topic that you have questions about, the chat feature is an excellent way to get your questions answered or to continue a topic and get others input. What was something about the virtual platform you did not like? Todd: We all know that meeting in person is the best way truly experience a convention. Hopefully, because these online platforms are useful and fun, they will work in conjunction with live events in the future. Continued on page 21
