The current COVID-19 pandemic has literally changed our world. As the need for hand washing has increased exponentially, so has the need for our industry to supply hand sanitizers and hand wash stations to the general public. Customer demand has far exceeded supply as both suppliers and operators can attest. A better understanding of the supply chain—the flow of product from the manufacturer to the supplier to the operator to the customer—can help us all plan more effectively. To gain a better understanding of the supply chain for these two vitally important product types, four PSAI supplier Members graciously volunteered to share their knowledge and insight. With this additional information, operators can better help their customers. This document adds portable sanitation expertise to guidance that has already been published by various other sources with knowledge of the virus, epidemiology, and public health. It is written for customers and users, with abundant references to other sources the Association has used as the basis for the new document.
