These include: • the temperature and humidity • wind • frequency of usage. Operating a restroom trailer in freezing temperatures requires much more care and attention than in fair weather. Systems must be checked frequently to ensure a smooth operation. Most manufacturers recommend the following for operation in freezing temps. In this list, the need goes in order from warmest to coldest temps. 1. Heated cabins and mechanical rooms 2. Heated water lines 3. Insulated waste tank 4. Heated waste tank 5. Heated dump valve 6. Trailer skirting 7. Forced air under the trailer Driving Motoring down the road in a tank vehicle is different than driving the family sedan. This is even more true during cold weather. Before you leave the yard, here are some things to check for winter driving: • Ignition system • Fuel system • Belts (integrity, rubbing) • Fluid levels (top off) • Brakes • Wiper blades and windshield washer fluid • Tire tread and pressure • Lights • Antifreeze Winter driving can be unpredictable.
