Whether you've been in the portable sanitation
industry for three months or three decades, you
know there are things that can threaten your
business. Some of them are mostly out of your
control – like the broad economic picture or major
changes in environmental regulations. A good many
are mostly within your control, and that's the good
news. Through the decisions you make and the
culture you create, you can have a substantial impact
on whether your business thrives or is taken out by
these things. One of the biggest items in this
category is safety.

If you have been in business long enough to have
had one customer, you have faced the issue of
getting paid. I'm not talking about pricing here –
that's a different topic. I'm talking about how to
actually get other people to give you the money
you expect and they agreed to pay for the work
that you do. Of course the good news is that most
customers do pay. The bad news is you're not
alone if you have trouble with collections.
