Celebrating the Life of Lou Paulsen
By Karleen Kos, PSAI Exec utive Director
All PSAI Members know that running a successful portable sanitation
company is a full time job. But Lou has done that while also doing a lot of
other things to make the world a better place. For example:
• He has worked with the contractor s serving the local Air Force
Base in Abilene, making little or no profit
but ensuring our military h as what it needs for successful projects.
• He once was called in to supply portable restrooms to a center for
troub led kids – the Ben Richie Bo ys Ranch – when its septic tanks
were s hut off and a sewer line had to be run. He donated the units,
and got some of his friends from the air force base to volunteer at
the ranch. Thus he s oon found himself on the Board of Directors
for the o rganization, a role he held for nearly a decade.
• He has been associated with the Better Business Bureau, the local homebuilders association, and he
served multiple terms on th e Board of the PSAI. Today he serves on the Standards and Guidance
Committee, and is one of o ur most dedicated volunteers at the W WETT Show each year (photo above ).
• He's also a leader in a semi - secret group calle d "The Indoor Bird Wa tchers S ociety," a group of
do - gooders who like to make an anonymous impact on their community.
