W EEKLY EDITION JUNE 19, 2019 Member Spotligh t - Nature's Way Portable Units By Todd Ginter , PSAI Marketing Manager As the years continued on, the trajectory of the business was on a steady incline. During those early days eve ry goal that Ami had set out for the company was reached. In fact, the company has never missed a yearly sales goal. Early on, the couple believed if they were to ever own 250 units, it would be a tremendous accomplishment. As of today, they have 600 units , 36 sinks, and five trucks. The company provides service in a 70 - mile radius around the town of Lone Rock, Wisconsin. Unlike many other companies that have many add - on items to offer, Nature's Way only does portable toilet units and does not provide addit ional services such as septic. With the company being located in a remote location in Wisconsin, Tim and Ami do not have easy access to piping from a nearby municipality. So, about 15 years ago they decided to install a 5,000 - gallon tank on their proper ty that is emptied every 6 - 10 days. Ami calls adding the tank, "the best business decision we have ever made." Their rural location in southern Wisconsin is actually a boon to their business. Every summer agriculture customers in the area need up to 68 un its to place around fields when corn growers are working. Then in the late summer and early fall, apple growers need the units when they have workers spending days harvesting the apples from the trees. The company also services many local events both big and small, including a country music festival that recently ended its run, but for 19 years required 126 units. One of the most memorable set of customers for the company happened during the Y2K scare back when the calendars changed from 1999 to 2000. With many people believing that computers and power grids would shut down, customers quickly turned to renting a portable toilet that would sit triumphantly near their recently built safety bunkers. January 2, 2000 was likely a busy pick - up day for Nature's Wa y.
