The American Society for Safety Engineers (ASSE) released an updated
version of its ANSI standard for San itation in Construction in July 2017,
ANSI/ASSE A10.25 - 2017. It both complements and contrasts with the
ANSI standards the PSAI released in 2016. As in its past editions,
ANSI/ASSE A10.25 - 2017 addresses potable water, toilets, and general
hand washing faci lities on construction sites.
The updated ASSE standard is one of a series of safety standards that
has been created by the ASSE Accredited Standards Committee on
Safety in Construction and Demolition Operations. The series —
including A10.25 — has been aroun d for many years. Other standards in
the series published by ASSE cover topics such as scaffolding,
excavation, hot mix asphalt facilities, and emergency procedures for
construction sites, among many others.
