W EEKLY EDITION OCTOBER 3, 2018 Do You Need Continuing Education Hours to Maintain your License? An important announ cement for those attending the 2018 Nuts and Bolts Educational Conference Each state and province has its own rules regarding Continuing Education. The PSAI routinely applies for approval for its conferences in states where event attendees, members and po tential members reside. For Nuts and Bolts we have applied or are in the process of applying for approval from: • Illinois • Ohio • Wisconsin • Alabama • Michigan If you would like credit from your state, please contact the PSAI and we will work with yo u and your state's licensing officials to help you receive the credit you need. Please note: some states require all training for continuing education credit to be explicitly focused on the state's law. Due to the broader scope of the PSAI, our courses are not often approved by those states. Some states do not regularly approve of conferences in advance but will accept the contact hours when you turn in your re - licensing paperwork. They will then sometimes contact us to verify your attendance and the conte nt of the sessions. In order to ensure that we can vouch for your attendance, you will need to both sign in and sign out each morning and afternoon. We cannot otherwise confirm that you were present. The PSAI is also willing to work with states to recogn ize our online courses. At this time most states do not accept online courses from any provider, though Illinois will accept the PSAI's courses under certain circumstances. Minnesota is in the process of writing a rule to allow the courses, but it is unlik ely to be published soon.
