Soldiers share stories of having to go during
wartime
War is hell, as we all well know by now, but it has a greater
dimension than some of us may think: There are portables
all over Afghanistan. Not surprising, but something most
folks probably don't think about.
The Task & Purpose web site is bringing that to the world's
attention, and even taking stories from soldiers about their
stories of excrement and other forms of discharge (not the
honorable kind). There's going to be some kind of reward
for the best (?) story. Also, portable toilets have become kind of a recurring playground-type thing to while away the hours, as
witnessed by some of the videos featured on the site.

This One is Not For the Birds, Nor for Portable Sanitation
Minnesota city restores license for pheasant cleaning business, but with conditions
The Mitchell, Minnesota City Council unanimously
decided to approve a conditional use permit allowing the
community's lone pheasant cleaning operation to remain
in business. At the urging of the community's business
and hunting advocates, that decision reversed the vote of
the city's planning commission denying a permit for Tami
Dammann to continue running a business she's had for
nearly 30 years out of her home, according to the Daily
Republic. The planning commission took issue with a
portable restroom that Dammann previously had located
on her property for hunters. She said she wouldn't use
the portable anymore. " I don't know what the hunters
are going to do," she said.
