In the June 27 issue of Association Insight we reported on a negative portable sanitation
article that had been posted on the popular
website Vice . ( See page 11 here ). While most
PSAI Members who stated an opinion felt good
about the steps we'd taken, at least one person
voiced this question:
"Wil l it d o any go od ?"
Since our crystal b all is out for repairs, we cannot
be sure of course. However, if this unsolicited mail
we received, the answer is probably "yes."

Truth is stranger than fiction … if you can tell w hich is which. For instance, is it really very
likely that someone would seriously consider designing a portable toilet with a broadband -
enabled desktop computer inside? Maybe not today, but in 2003 – well – read on.
A few weeks ago your intrepid PSAI sta ff stumbled across a story that seemed too silly to
be real. In 2003 Microsoft – not Apple, ironically – announced the first "web - enabled iLoo "
We initially laughed it off. When we finished sniggering, we thought we should to make
sure it was just "fake n ews" and not something that actually happened. As it turns out, it's
probably both. We thought you might be as amused by this little - known episode in
portable sanitation history we were.
